Solomon presents at SAYCCC ‘1.5°C Future’ conference.

Janet Solomon presents to Durban youth at the South African Youth Centre for Climate Change conference on the theme 1.5°C Future. This was the brave question she addressed: “The South African government advocates climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, yet the majority of developmental decisions planned are solely for economic development, mandated by the national government and undertaken by private developers, in conflict with social and environmental development concerns relating to protection of natural and human systems. Please talk to us about some of these conflicts that have been created especially looking into energy sector, identifying unlawful (against the constitution) action plans, as well as possible solutions to solve this issue.”
