PROTESTERS toted posters and chanted as they gathered outside the Italian Consulate on Fairway Road in Durban North on Friday, 10 May.

The peaceful protest set the backdrop for Janet Solomon of Oceans not Oil and Jamila Janna of Youth for Marine Protected Areas to hand over and read a memorandum to the Italian Honourary Consul, Costantino Buccimazza who had agreed to hand it over to Italian oil and gas company,  Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi (ENI)
